ELECTRIC VEHICLES – NEWS, NEWS, NEWS

It is impossible to go a week without hearing about the Electric Vehicle takeover.

Whether it’s one of the large motor companies revealing new plans to add EVs to their fleet. Or, they are already one step ahead and are now launching their new EV model. Whatever the reason, the emergence of EV is news, and it is everywhere.

2017 sales of plug-in cars have reached a record high in the UK, with 22,480 new EVs registered in the first six months of the year, an annual increase of 14.3%. Approximately two thirds of electric vehicles bought today go to corporate and public sector organisations – once again highlighting the important role companies play in adopting low emission technology.

SOLISCO GO ULTRA LOW

As part of a joint Government and Motor industry campaign, the Go Ultra Low Campaign encourages more drivers to switch to electric.

So far, each organisation has already adopted electric vehicles onto their fleet, and, have now committed to dedicate at least 5% of their fleet in total to electric vehicles by 2020.

To date, more than 100 organisations have signed up. Companies who have joined include the likes of  Microsoft UK, Santander UK, Swansea University, London Fire Brigade and many more.

Solisco are proud to have been awarded ‘Go Ultra Low Company’ status, in recognition of how the organisation has already opened its vehicle fleet to plug-in cars and its commitment to boost uptake of plug-in vehicles over the coming years.

Parveen Begum, Director of Solisco, said: “It is an exciting time for Electric Vehicles and for us as a company in particular. We aim to only add EVs to our fleet as our company grows, and look forward to other companies joining us on this.”
